For the oil and gas sector, Ima can provide different, standard braking solutions, to meet the specifications of the API or customised brake blocks, with long-lasting friction materials which are silent while machining. These items are adapted to OnShore/OffShore working. The company can create preformed and formed brake blocks.

Creation from a detailed drawing of braking:

Perforation blocks in SWR material – pre-shaped drawworks brake – Friction material in an SWR adapted roll produced with a revolutionary formula, this material has excellent friction priorities, minimum wear and excellent stability even when used at high temperature.

Chemical/material composition:

The SWR material has no asbestos, melted weave consisting of finely carded fibre and brass wire. It is a dense and hard material and is resistant to heat and compression when subject to load. It is uninfluenced by minor contaminations of oil and/or water and grease.

Technical advantages:

Emission of noise and very low decibels both at the perforation stage (rotational and sliding) and at the manoeuvre stage. Capacity to disperse the heat even above 250°C, avoiding the formation of cracks or hardening of the brake lining. As a result, there is an increased mechanical hold and a double or triple duration compared to classic brake linings in fabric or similar, currently on sale. Higher braking coefficient, so smoother, less marked braking. There is no wear around the bolt, so there is no movement between the ferrule and drum and, as a result, the usual vibrations are eliminated.
