The MI-00-501 is a high-performance rigid composite friction material designed for heavy-duty industrial applications requiring maximum thermal resistance, high friction stability and long service life. Its formulation, based on phenolic resins reinforced with selected fibres, ensures consistent behaviour even under extreme operating conditions and repeated high-energy braking cycles.
The material provides a high and stable coefficient of friction with excellent resistance to thermal fading, even at very high temperatures, making it suitable for intermittent operation up to 300–400°C. It is particularly recommended for brakes and clutches used in heavy cranes, winches, hoists, industrial machinery with high inertia and severe-duty lifting systems.
MI-00-501 also offers outstanding mechanical and compressive strength, minimizing deformation and wear under high loads. It ensures a strong yet controlled braking response, high reliability over time and reduced maintenance needs. Thanks to I.M.A.’s expertise, it can be supplied in various formats or machined into custom components according to customer drawings.
