The MI-00-401 is a rigid composite friction material designed for industrial applications requiring high friction stability, good wear resistance and reliable performance under standard and light-to-medium duty conditions. Its formulation, based on phenolic resins with an NBR bonding system and short fibres, results in a non-metallic material with consistent behaviour and high structural stability even under continuous load.
MI-00-401 is particularly suitable for brakes and clutches used in industrial machinery, material handling systems, light lifting equipment, gear motors and general-purpose applications where operational continuity, precision and low noise are required. Its high hardness ensures excellent dimensional stability and good compressive strength, helping maintain consistent performance over time.
The material provides smooth and controlled braking response with good resistance to thermal fading and low aggressiveness on mating surfaces. This results in extended component life and reduced maintenance requirements. Thanks to I.M.A.’s expertise, MI-00-401 can be supplied in various formats or machined into custom components according to customer drawings.
