The MI-00-302 is a composite friction material designed for industrial applications requiring high braking efficiency, good adaptability to mating surfaces and low-noise operation. Its formulation, based on phenolic resins with an NBR bonding system, short fibres and brass reinforcement, provides a high coefficient of friction and stable performance under dynamic and intermittent working conditions.
Thanks to its slightly flexible behaviour compared to other materials in the range, MI-00-302 ensures excellent surface conformity, reducing vibration and noise during braking phases. It is particularly suitable for brakes and clutches used in winches, cranes, industrial lifting systems, brake calipers and high cyclic-load applications.
The material also offers good wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated temperatures, ensuring consistent performance even under demanding conditions. Its combination of high friction capability and low aggressiveness on mating surfaces helps extend component life. Thanks to I.M.A.’s expertise, MI-00-302 can be supplied in various formats or machined into custom components according to customer requirements.
